OCR: Vincent Price 1911 - 1991 by Michael H. Price The coolest discovery I have made in 25 years of film journalism is the revelation that Vincent Price and I are cousins - several times removed, but kinfolks, all the same. The most generous grand-manner actor this side of Charles Laughton, Price is a St. Louis native who first weighed in as a working actor on the London stage. Making his screen debut in 1938, Price started in leading roles butsoon found a truer niche in character parts, often those of the suavely menacing varient. Horror-film stardom began in eamest with 'Shock" and "Dragon- wyck" during 1946, but somewhat earlier Price had registered strongly in the likes of "Tower of London"and "The Invisible Man Retums". Price performed in over 100 filles.
